Architecture

We take on challenging sites, often Brownfield, underused and unexplored gaps in the suburban landscape. Many projects are insertions requiring a sensitive approach to the repair of an existing built form. Continuous review of financial viability ensures projects can be delivered. The company controls the direction and is not constrained by arbitrary expectations. Working methods mean that schemes and approach can be adapted to suit the particular project rather than project led by restrictive practice. Buildability is key.

Planning

Our in house team have a wide range of experience in current planning policy and understand aspirations at local regional and national level. Additional consultants with specialist knowledge are brought in as necessary. Consultation with local planning authorities is encouraged and dialogue developed on each of the projects. Local neighbourhood consultation is increasingly part of the process to ensure that projects are understood and supported Local knowledge is developed to understand the aspirations of the local community. This is proving to be highly affective in both the south London boroughs and in Liverpool where a substantial amount of projects are underway.

Developer

The practice is keen to produce a contemporary architecture appropriate to the site, Site restraints are embraced and used as a tool to inform the design, and schemes reflect and enhance the existing characteristics of the surroundings. Schemes range from small single houses to developments of seventy units and more. Small scale development however can provide a strong link by reinforcing identity and knitting together disparate neighbours. Gaps in our suburban landscape become vibrant links through a pragmatic approach that leads to build ability.
